Who should apply?
Open to undergraduate and graduate students over 18 who are interested in marine conservation, plastic pollution research, waste management, and zero waste systems who use Excel (other statistical programs are a plus). To qualify, you must be able to meet in Los Angeles once a week, have your own computer and a phone capable of operating data collection apps.

What are the terms?
The position begins in September 2018 and includes a stipend of $20/hour for a maximum of 10 hours per week; the maximum allotment is $3,200 per 5-month semester.

What are the duties?
The research assistant will work closely with Dr. Marcus Eriksen, 5 Gyres Co-Founder and Research Director, on different projects. Duties may include sample collection, data management, curation of archived samples, etc.
